Work

  • Mono Variant is a series created with the desire to document and re-present the repetitive, mundane experiences while navigating through life on this island city-state. Through the repetitive act of multiple exposures of the commonplace and objects I encounter, the series is an attempt to embody the unspectacular, humdrumness of daily life into single frames; to perhaps re-encounter the relentless similarities of everyday monotony in a single gaze.
  • With the dominance of computer technology as a form of communication in developed countries, the keyboard has become a banal, functional component within a commonplace system.

Keys is a photographic series that utilises found keyboards to explore the semiosis of signs within this technological vernacular.
  • Let those who have eyes see is a photographic series that records the visual performance that presents itself to a vacant apathetic audience. A window to a world which repeats itself in a never-ending cycle until it is roused into activity.
  • The arrival of the digital age has placed digital data and data processing in the foreground of most digital technology. In photography, images are no longer the product of chemical process but the product of data information and processing algorithms. Programs are written and dictate the way data are recorded and read.

Absent Presence is a series that seeks to bring forth the absence of the photographic image through the presence of data information..
  • Dialogue is a series focusing on the interaction and occurrences between elements of nature and inventions of man in the urbanised cityscape. The pursuit to balance an urbanised city with a garden like landscape creates a state of collision between them. These images act as a record and document, preserving one such dialogue between man and nature.
  • Inspired by the Greek mythology of Narcissus, transfixed by his beauty in the pool of water; Narcisuss' Nature is an identical search for the reflections of the natural picturesque, fixing and transforming them into stillness and muteness.
  • Commercial work.
  • Since the discovery and birth of photography it has been tied to its ability to 'copy' reality, indexing the object before the camera and transforming the photograph into a document.

Between Spaces is an attempt to explore and question the indexical, iconic and representation aspects within the medium of photography.
